Trans Nzoia Senator Allan Chesang' and Woman Representative Lillian Siyoi Vow Fearless Oversight of Public Resources

Trans Nzoia Senator Allan Chesang' and Woman Representative Hon. Lillian Siyoi Walubengo have jointly reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to fulfilling their constitutional mandates of overseeing and scrutinizing the use of public funds without fear, favoritism, or political pressure
Speaking at Chepchoina in Trans Nzoia County, the two leaders emphasized that their primary duty is to ensure accountability and transparency in how taxpayer money is utilized for the benefit of residents. This stance comes amid ongoing political tensions in the county, where oversight roles have often intersected with local governance disputes and allegations of resource mismanagement.
Senator Chesang' highlighted his core responsibility as ensuring that public funds are spent prudently and effectively to deliver tangible benefits to the people of Trans Nzoia. He stressed that oversight is not a partisan exercise but a constitutional obligation aimed at promoting good governance and development. Chesang', who chairs the Senate ICT Committee and serves on the Agriculture and Livestock Committee, has previously publicly called out alleged misuse of county resources, including in areas like maize seed and fertilizer distribution, insisting that leaders must be held accountable regardless of position or affiliation. His remarks at Chepchoina reinforced this position, signaling continued vigilance in monitoring county expenditures and projects to prevent waste or corruption.
On her part, Woman Representative Lillian Siyoi declared she would not hesitate to raise any concerns involving the misuse or misappropriation of public funds, adding that their shared resolve is to safeguard the interests of Trans Nzoia residents above all else. Siyoi, an elected UDA member who has been vocal on various national and local issues, underscored the importance of protecting devolved resources for equitable development, particularly in empowering women, youth, and marginalized groups. The duo's public pledge highlights a unified front in exercising legislative oversight, even as the county navigates complex dynamics ahead of future elections, with calls for leaders to prioritize service delivery over political rivalries.
