Wandayi : Fuel Supply Secured as Price Review Approaches

Energy Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi has reassured the public about stable fuel availability across the country ahead of the upcoming Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority review.
In a statement issued on June 10, the CS confirmed that adequate stocks are in place to support smooth distribution without interruptions. This assurance comes just days before the monthly price adjustment scheduled for June 14, providing confidence amid broader economic considerations for motorists and businesses.
Wandayi highlighted deliberate government interventions that have kept supply chains steady, with fuel deliveries already arranged through the end of July. These measures aim to protect the country from potential disruptions seen in other markets due to global energy fluctuations. The secured shipments ensure continuity for both domestic needs and essential services during this period.
Looking at the June-July cycle, the CS indicated that EPRA will implement a reduction in diesel prices as part of efforts to ease costs for consumers and the transport sector. This follows earlier commitments, including a Ksh10 per litre cut announced previously for diesel. Current retail prices stand at Ksh232.86 for diesel, Ksh191.38 for kerosene, and Ksh214.25 for super petrol, with adjustments expected soon.
This update on fuel stability and pricing offers a positive outlook for the country as it navigates energy demands. By maintaining consistent supply and pursuing targeted reductions, authorities seek to support economic activities while shielding citizens from volatility. The developments underscore ongoing work to balance affordability with reliable access to petroleum products.
