Rising Crime Cases Spark Concern Among Kanduyi Residents

Residents of kanduyi town in Bungoma county have expressed concerns over the deteriorating security situation over following an increase in the reported criminal activities.
Over the past few weeks, locals say incidents of motorcycle theft, shop break-ins, and muggings have become almost routine. Shopkeepers open their doors to shattered locks and empty shelves. The pattern has left business owners counting losses and residents questioning their safety after dark.
This incident becomes sane when the police step up their operations ensuring a well established security among the residents. The residents are asking for increased night patrols, rapid response to reported incidents, and targeted crackdowns in known hotspots like bus parks, market alleys, and poorly lit estates. They also want closer collaboration between nyumba kumi_ officials and police so suspects are identified faster.
The appeal to both county and national government is to address the humanitarian angle as they suggest tracing street families, reuniting them with relatives where possible, and setting up temporary shelters or skills programs. The idea aims at reducing the number of people living on the streets so that desperation doesn’t translate into crime.
